You are quite welcome, sir! :) Thanks realy go to KaolaT and everyone else who tossed in really good advice and words of encouragement.

Key fob

I had a Ford emblem that I had gotten at a swap meet almost 2 years ago. I drilled a little hole in it this morning and it will make the perfect key fob.

I think for my key fob, I am going to hook a Big blackhole to my keys, put in my pocket. That way money can just fall into the blackhole, and I don't have to waste time reaching into my pocket. :). Fred, I am not sure it is legal to have as much fun as you are having. I saw your video starting the bucket after some wiring. I have some friends I use to work with in Houston, if I ever get back down there I will have to look you up.

... So, electrical wiring is nothing to be scared of. This was my VERY FIRST time. This was also the section that I thought I was going to mess up...

I'm glad to hear your dance with the devil had gone well so far! Congratulations! Now, when you get to phase II of this, remember relays are your friend... at least for electric cooling fans, horns, power locks... oh..

Almost forgot... way cool key fob:dance:

Re: Devil? Who the heck is that!?

Way to go Fred !!! I know have hope that I can do it,,

LowRollerchevy's column bracket.

Lowrollerchevy's column bracket came today and it is freaking nice!:welcome: I'll have pics tomorrow, once I tweak it to fit my application. I just wanted to let everyone know he makes a nice product and it is just as he described.

VERY nice!:rulz:

Lowrollerchevy's bracket

I got into work a little early today (I hope that lady I cut off got that lip stick off her cheek:lol:) and proceeded to mount Lowroller's steering column bracket. It took minimal tweaking to get it where I wanted it. I was able to secure it firmly and still have the entire upper part of the design show. After all, this is an art piece as well as a functional piece.

I'm not sure I stated it before, but the Total Performance steering column is WAY strong! The column and plate that mounts to the floor are one welded pice. Plus it mounts to the floor using 4 bolts, one of which goes through the body and into the frame. Thus making the steering column, body and floor a strong unit. Lowrollers brace will add some more support. There is NO movement of my column at all. In fact, when I tugged on the steering wheel, the whole car rocked, while the column stayed rigid. No Viagra jokes, please!

Here's a pic:

I'll probably paint it black and use buttunhead bolts for the final install. When looking into the interior, it will show up against the red floor mats.

Thanks a bunch, LowRollerChevy! You make a damn nice product and I hope others like it as much as I like mine.:D

An offer I couldn't refuse!

I got a call today from my buddy in Pearland, TX (just outside of Houston). Seems he had a friend who wrecked his sandbuggy over the weekend. he wasn't hurt, but his wife has demanded he sell it. Seems he's parting it out to try and get more money than trying to sell the carnage. Well, my buddy asked if I wanted the gas tank. It's practically brand new. Long story short, I got it for $50! It's the 33" X 10" spun aluminum tank. Holds about 11 gallons. I measured where my tank should go and it should be a good fit. Yea, it's not as cool as the repop Model T tank I wanted ,but with the savings, I was able to order ALL of the stuff I'll need to finish wiring my car.

It doesn't have a sender for a gas gauge, but no worries there. I'll do what one of the local HAMBers does. Check the level with a wooden dowel and keep track of my gas mileage. I'll probably get the repop sooner or later, but like I said, this was an offer I couldn't refuse. I pick it up Thursday and will show pics of the install.

Now THAT'S an idea! Thanks, Bruce. I may try that.

Re: Lowrollerchevy's bracket

Your Welcome.

Radiator fan

Got my radiator fan today and slapped her on. I decided to go with a 15" flex fan. In order to move it closer to the radiator, I also bought a 2" spacer. This puts my fan about 2 1/2" from the radiator. It draws great air and should be more than enough, since my engine is stock and the radiator is rated for a 600HP engine. I'd rather not run a shroud, but I may make one later just for safty sake. Sure, if some bone head sticks his hand in a fan, he kinda deserves the lesson he gets, but if a little kid did it, I'd NEVER forgive myself.:sad::cry: So, I can see a fan shroud in my future. Anyway, here's the pics:

Windshield side mirrors? Already!?

I'm about 3 weeks from getting my windshield (called CCR and they'll get me set for $228 shipping included) and at that point, my T will be ready to be inspected! WOO HOO! Well, today another little (actually kinda big considering what was in it) package showed up. A set of two, shiney:cool: brass side mirrors! A donation from LumenAl!

radiatorfan003.jpg

Now, my build had pretty much gotten back on it's "lo-buck" path. I had promised myself that I wouldn't get anymore chrome stuff! This is a lo-buck build, DARN IT! My windshiled frame is going to be plain aluminum with cast posts that I will smooth out a little and clear coat. Now I have these super shiney mirrors! How will they work in my theme!?

Well, they'll work because they were a gift from a FRIEND! Just like the only piece of chrome on my front end is a set of shock levers from Rick. Or the headlights that also came from LumenAl that have a few minor scratches, but will NEVER get replaced. In the same league are the headlight brackets that RPM made for me, the steering column bracket that LowRollerChevy fabbed up and the wiring that was courtesy of KoalaT's drawings. They'll NEVER get replaced and will always be special to me.

So, yea, if someone says that maybe something seems out of place, I'll just bring on my BIG smile and say, "No, thery're right where they belong."

'Nuff said.

Is it just me, or do two blades look bent in this picture. I know they are not bent, but that is some camera trick

Congratulations, Fred! I know you've been dreading this part of your build.

See, electricity isn't the devil. Sometimes you just have to jump in and do it!

Looks good.

Mike

Been following your build for a while now. I'm looking forward to seeing the windshield on.

Nice butt!

Drove out to my buddies shop and saw the tank. Just a few srcatches on one side, but other than that it was brand new! I didn't have the heart to barter. The seller had some nice scratches and bruises from his little mishap. Picture... Frankenstien. If ya drink, don't fly over blind hills in a sandbuggy.

Yea, she's got the look!

Man, I'm sure gonna miss that little one gallon tank. Well, we'll always have the memories and I'll never toss it out. Heck, may need it again, if my plans for another project pan out.

No sooner had I got back to work, the UPS girl shows up with the rest of the stuff I need to complete my wiring this weekend!:D The forecast for the weekend is plenty of sun and 80*! Stay tuned for more pics and a little light show!;):D
