The Bucket List

Ok its been a while for an update.
So the fan didn't fit as a puller so had to fabricate a fan shroud and make it a pusher.

Got the tall valve covers milled down to accept my new carbon fiber and milled pieces and finished the CAD drawing to get it done. Cad drawing has the firewall piece, valve covers and the rear emblem for the box so I can CNC it all at the same time.

And I left the money tree alone long enough to let it grow a bit..so I chopped it down, got my tach and throttle cable linkage.

Looking at spark plug wire organizers and didn't like much of what I saw for the price.
And I don't have my TIG yet so I thought I would do some experimenting with brazing aluminum using good old propane.

This how it went.

I used 3/8 aluminum fuel line for the spacers that bolt on the valve covers, 1/2 X 1/2 aluminum stock for the clamps, and 3/4 X 1/8 flat bar.

The trick was to clean the aluminum with a stainless brush and get the work up off the table so that nothing leached the heat out of the part.
I had a few learning experiences but it got done without and parts flying across the garage.

Also made all the vacuum lines with brake lines and tied the two carbs together, them I snake skinned all the lines.

That looks nice, thanks for the pictures and link. Which one, or more, of the products shown on that site did you use?

Thanks,
Jerry

Thanks for the link, more good stuff for us gearheads. Love what you're doing with your motor. Details, details, it's what makes a car stand out. Isn't brazing great? I don't weld, so I braze aluminum to fab parts.

I used the Clean Cut Fame Retardant stuff .. because that is what we use at work so I could just get the girl in the stores to order it for me and have it taken out on pay-role deduction.
Plus they order so much its cheaper and they can sell it to me by the foot instead of me having to order a roll.

Just so you know , that low temp alum solder will grey out in a short period of time ( mostly zinc ) ....,tying together the ported vacuum ports serves no purpose , just get some 1/8 " pipe plugs & plug ' em.. You only need / want 1 choke working ( you can do without).
