The Bucket List

The Fab table keeps improving
Started with just an upgraded top for welding surface.
Then added a vise.
Then a bead roller on one end and a break on the other, both removable for storage.
Now I added three more shelves, one removable that will hold the tig tank, pedal and torch, one small one pulls out to hold all the cups, collets and tungsten, and one underneath to hold the break and bead roller when not bolted/clamped to the table.
Also making the tungsten grinder vise mounted so that its removable and adding a vise mounted bracket for the shrinker/stretcher combo.

Once the Tig gets here there is a home for it in there too.
Plus I fabed up a little holder to handle 4 kinds of filler wire.

Now that's one nice bench. Something for the guy that has everything and no big shop to store it!

I was seriously looking at Everlast a couple of years ago, but then things happened. I liked their
forum and the company participation in support of the user.

Well its hard to beat the price for what you get.
This machine I got on Black Friday sale for $1400 CAD. to get into a Miller that can do everything this does I would be into $6000.
And you are right about the support so far.
I thought I wasn't getting gas flow in between pre and post, sent an email because it was late Sunday and I had a response first thing Monday.
Turns out the machine is smart and if you are not striking an arc (current sense) after 5 seconds it shuts the gas off thinking its a trigger fault so you don't loose your gas. I was just pushing the pedal and adjusting the flow with no arc.
Have been practicing melting aluminum and stainless and it works flawlessly other than the carbon interface actually doing the welding.
The only thing I wish it had was an off switch on the front, the one fan runs all the time unless you shut it off with the breaker on the rear of the machine.

If I remember correctly, the designer/owner got involved sometimes when it came to a faulty
unit. But that never lasts forever, still if they are giving great support from the techs with great
turn around times it's hard to get better than that.

It good to see that I was not the only one impressed, was wondering if I was wondering into
another marketing fiasco.

I don't know about the designer / owner, pretty sure they are made in China.
But what isn't now.. and I am lucky I am not far from a distributor here.
3 year warranty and if anything goes wrong and I can't fix it over the phone I can drop it off.

Update.
Working on the dash so I have some instruments for first fire up.

Think 55 chev mixed with 61 corvette dash.chevrolet-00198-4.jpg 1956-chevy-nomad-dash.jpg

Will post some progress pics.. going to do most of it in stainless and laminate the wood backing with carbon fiber.

Shazaaaaaammmmm there Batwman !!!

That's some serious fabrication going on . . .

Like Spanky says,

Looking Good!

Progress caries on slowly .. fit ,, trim .. refit .. weld .. grind .. refit.

Still have some touch up welding and blending to do before polish.
Then new wood for a better fit (without the burns from welding) refit all the gauges, and then the carbon fiber.
Should look pretty cool when its done.

That's awesome. Nice fab and foresight. It's so hard to fit stuff into the limited space on these things
