Ok, so after a year it is about time to get started on my build. I have decided to nickname the bucket Phantom for good reason--a) something that is not real and exists only in a person's mind, b) something that is hard to see or achieve. After dealing with a shady business that took my money and produced absolutely nothing (I believe there is a word for that), kind of sums up my feelings. Also it was the first aircraft (F-4) I worked on in my military career. I finally ordered a frame from Ron Pope At RPM Motorsports, needless to say it will ship Monday and in less time than he quoted me when I ordered it. Had I not ordered an LS engine block from Summit Racing I could have had a frame in a mere 8 days! I am certainly looking forward to dealing with Ron as my build progresses, regardless of how slow it may go.
The plans are for a extended body, bobtail style, 4 wheel disc brakes, LM7 Chevy (carbed), TH350, Kirkey vintage racing seats. I have a 9" ford 3rd member I built all new with Strange Housing, Ford Trac Loc Diff, Daytona pinion support and 3:50 R&P. Basically a bare-bones style T to cruise around in without concern of the many dirt roads here in northern PA. I have '53 Chevy Surf Green paint for the body and everything else will be satin black (Im not sure about the gas tank yet, its spun aluminum and too pretty to paint lol). Mama said chrome is the debbil ! I also have Crager series 69 wheels for all 4 corners. So, I will post pics of the frame when it arrives and will update this post as things happen.
