After skinning over the caliper surface with JB Weld, the system is dry. Of course, the day after I got this done, my rear license plate/tail light/turn signal assembly broke loose. The bracket failed and broke off clean where it was bent 90 degrees at the frame attachment point (previous owner used thin .080" aluminum to fabricate a complex sheet metal bracket that held all three items). I was very lucky; the wires to the light fixtures kept everything from falling onto the road somewhere. When I got to work, the whole assembly was dangling down by the rear axle, held by a couple wires.
