Carmen said, "With all due respect I love my Tbucket we put 2000 miles on it last summer
I just want to be able to drive it 2 1/2 hours on the highway & the front end is not made to cruise @ 65 -70 mph."

With all due respects, Carmen, we put more than 2000 miles per year on our roadster with a tube axle and are quite comfortable in it for extended cruises at highway speeds. I built the car to ride firm but not harsh and to handle well. I have had many guys ride with me, including some on this forum, and they have all been pleased with the good ride and handling characteristics of my car. My wife has arthritis and sever back problems and she is also very comfortable in it.

P.S. We also have a 23000 btu heater with a 3 speed blower for the cool nights like you said that you wanted in your car and it works great.

Jim
Do you any pics you can post
Thanks Carmen

I have lots of pictures that I can post, Carmen. What, in particular, are you interested in, front or rear suspension, steering, heater, body or what. Let me know and I'll be glad to oblige either here or through your e-mail address. Just let me know.

Do you have any full shots of the buckets with the mustang 2 frontends
I'd like to see the cars frome the sides front shots
Thanks
Ps if anyone has some I'd love to see them

Theres this "old" guy on here called Ted Brown (sorry Ted :D ) who knows more about how to build buckets than most anyone I have ever heard of. And hes travelled over 200,000 miles in his own bucket too over the past several decades, so hes been there and done that.

I figure that if Ted says a tube axle works in a bucket, then none of us need argue the point.

Look up "Ted Brown Chassis" and Teds earlier company "California Custom Roadsters" and you will see why.

If you really want an IFS just to be different, the keys to "avoiding the uglies" are to use tubular top and bottom arms and to cover the chassis extension out front, which hides the R&P steering.

Yes I'm building an LSX 427 with kinsler fuel injection 4L60 transmission
With my new set up I hope to drive it all over & a few trips to the jersey shore

I know a few don't like my idea or my build but to each his own

So the overall idea (suspension, engine and all) is a usable car, with a little more practicality than the classic bucket. I know some people are very attached to traditional looks, but I like your approach.

I love my bucket & something different
