Low Slung T

I also got my pan hard mount redone. It kind of ugly so I may trim it up some later. I'm going to wait until I'm sure that I won't use the top area for some other purpose though. It now is level at ride height and it adjustable so I can keep it level if I move my coil overs up and down.

Well, I'm taking another week off. Not by choice this time though. Headed to Wyoming for the week. I hear it's snowing there. Ugh

Nice work. I like a lot of what your doing. Have a safe trip.

Back at it a bit. Welded my crossmember all up and did some metal finishing on it.
Also, got the body mounts on.

Maybe I should have said sleeves. They would go inside the cross member where the two bolt holes are, to prevent the cross member from crushing in when bolts are tightened. Perhaps with time, they may tend to crush in, causing the cross member to become loose in its saddles.

Oh. I see what you mean. I actually cut the bottom of the crossmember or so I won't have that issue. It's solid steel the hole length of the bolt. I'll take pictures in the morning.

Choppedtop below is a picture of how I handled the bolting of the crossmember. I cut out the bottom so I could put the bolts and washer through it. No worries on crushing the tubing.

I got the transmission tunnel ready for some glass. Probably will lay it up tomorrow or the next day. I do realize that I will have to make a tunnel for the driveshaft. I'm still waiting for the driveshaft though. I ordered it about a month ago. :/

I also got some custom gauges in. Lolimage.jpeg

Got some glass on the transmission tunnel. Also talked to my driveshaft guy. He should have it down tomorrow so hopefully I'll get the hole tunnel complete by the end of the week.

While the glass was drying I cleaned up my steering box a bit before I paint it and put it back together with some new seals.

Got my steering box painted up last night. And today I picked up my input shaft and the steering joint from my brother who machined the joint to fit the smooth shaft. As soon as the paint dries I'll be putting it back together.

I also picked up the drive shaft today. So now I'm going to work on cutting gm out the rest of the body/floor that needs and completing my tunnel. I'll be putting in a crossmember and safety loop somewhere near the kick up too as long as everything work out.

It definitely is. Sometimes when I think about everything I have left to do, I get a little overwhelmed. Have to tell myself one step at a time and I've got the rest of my life to get this thing done.

For now, I'm getting ready to cut the body for the driveshaft tunnel. I marked it out about as small as it could possibly be. Once it's cut I'll put the body back on with my new driveshaft and move the suspension all around to make sure there's no chance of it hitting. If it too small, I'll trim it a bit. Then back to fiberglassing!

Put my yoke on the driveshaft, installed it on the car and cut the body out some more. Next I'll move the reader suspension through all of its travel and adjustments and make sure it doesn't hit. Then on to the crossmember/safety loop and glassing the rest of this tunnel into the body!!

Looks good. From your previous photos, it looked like you were cutting way to much of the body out. That don't look so bad now the body is on. Doubt if you will have to cut out more. You probably won't have a total of more than 3" upward travel.
